NEW LED ZEPPELIN ALBUM, “IN THROUGH THE OUT DOOR” SET FOR AUGUST 22 RELEASE
August 16, 1979 - In Through the Out Door (SS16002), the new album for Swan Song recording group Led Zeppelin, has been set for official national release on August 22, 1979. The first new studio album in over three years from the British supergroup, In Through the Out Door is a single album containing seven new songs written by members of the group. Produced by Jimmy Page, the complete track listing is:
Side One – In the Evening, South Bound Saurez, Fool in the Rain, Hot Dog; Side Two: Carouselambra, All My Love, I’m Gonna Crawl.
The album was recorded and mixed at Polar Music Studios in Stockholm, Sweden. Peter Grant, the manager of Led Zeppelin, is the Executive Producer.
Coinciding with the completion of the new Led Zeppelin album, the band (Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones, John Bonham) made its first live appearance in two years over the past few weeks. Following two warm-up shows in Copenhagen, Denmark, the band headlined two massive concerts at England’s Knebworth Park on August 4 and 11, playing before a crowd in excess of 250,000 fans.
1979 marks the tenth anniversary of the release of the first Led Zeppelin album (in January 1969); and over the past decade the band has occupied a position at the pinnacle of the rock world.
