Atlantic Readies Led Zeppelin Retrospective For Fall Release
The first-ever Led Zeppelin anthology, a four-CD / four-cassette / six-LP boxed set, will be released in October by Atlantic Records.
The announcement was made this week at the annual WEA National Sales Meeting, held in San Francisco. Spanning the group's entire career, the retrospective contains 54 tracks personally selected and sequenced by Jimmy Page, Robert Plant and John Paul Jones and digitally remastered this year by Jimmy Page and engineer George Marino at Sterling Sound in New York City.
Simply entitled "LED ZEPPELIN", the collection includes selections from each of the band's nine studio albums, plus two previously-unreleased tracks: "Travelling Riverside Blues" and "White Summer / Black Mountain Side" - both culled from 1969 BBC broadcasts.
Also featured is a newly-produced track bringing together elements of Moby Dick (from Led Zeppelin II) and Bonzo's Montreux (from CODA). In addition, the anthology contains Hey Hey What Can I Do, previously only available as the b-side of the single version of 1970's Immigrant Song.
