Press Review: (translated) Zeppelin – Hard, Cold and Tuff Music
To experience Led Zeppelin in Scandinavium on Sunday night felt a bit like watching a really bad Italian spaghetti western. Or like wandering around kicking beer cans in Hammarkullen or Bergsjön an early holiday morning.
Or perhaps more likely like having sex with neither eroticism nor tenderness.
Since the music was tuff, cold and hard. At least I felt it terrible insensitive. If you believe that hardness feed strength, you probably like Led Zeppelin. I don´t.
I like songs like “Stairway to heaven”, “Whole lotta love” and a few others on record, but Led Zeppelin managed to ruin even these with their simplistic way of playing.
Maybe the group has gotten so big that their self-criticism has suffered lately – the songs from the new LP didn´t exactly make you happier.
To sum it up I have to say that this was the worst concert in Gothenburg for quite some time and it was very depressing to hear a couple of thousand people calling the group for an encore. But that have become a tradition lately. After that song the applauses became silent very quickly. Fortunately. [Goteborgsposten / 3.6.73]
