Press Review: Jimmy Page, bent over his guitar and straining for unknown notes, listening hard because he’s right there in the middle of that Led Zeppelin wall of sound, sweat oozing torrential down his face, and dripping off the ends of that long wavy hair down onto the guitar and one expects that guitar to fizz and steam because it’s so near boiling point.
John Bonham, wild on the drums looking over almost painful with effort at John Paul Jones, laying down such a heavy bass, and through it all is the power of that Robert Plant voice.
Led Zeppelin at the Marquee - Led Zeppelin anywhere, for that’s how they are onstage. Powerful, heavy and very good. (Record Mirror, April 1969)

Press Review: Zeppelin At Marquee
Led Zeppelin, the most talked about British group of the moment, played at the Marquee last Friday and received the ovations they deserve. They fully justify all praise that they have been given over the last few months and the 1800 strong audience refused to let them leave without playing two extra numbers.
Guitarist supreme, Jimmy Page, perspiration pouring from his face, gave one of the most incredible performances ever, in spite of constant equipment trouble and the group were pleasantly polite to their audience throughout, acknowledging applause and smiling, making a pleasant change from the moodies thrown by some top groups.
Supergroup is the only fitting title for Led Zeppelin. [Top Pops, 4-5-69]
